I started back to work in September and I love it!! With my schedule (2:30pm-6:00pm), it leaves David to make dinner most nights. This is hard when I have been the one making dinners for so long (even more so when David worked in his older job and was only home for dinner 2 nights a week). David is also now back at work (he has been out of work since April) he works overnight from 11:00pm to 7:00am, so he is tired and really does not have energy to make dinner, help the girls with homework, and take care of the younger 3 boys.
We want everyone to have a good dinner and for it to be healthy. Pinterest is my best friend lately. I have been able to find freezer crockpot meals. I can do 1-2 days of cooking and prepping (mostly just prepping) and have meals to last us a month or more. I am hoping this can help us with our issues with eating dinner late and not really having time to sit down as a family before bedtime. Now I can have dinner started before i have to go to work and it can be ready by the time I get home. I hope this can get in to a good routine.
Now lets hope our routine does not take long to get on. We have some busy days and that is without appointments for Logan or the other kids. I feel like we are on the run more than last school year. Next to tackle is a good laundry schedule, we have 3 days a week to get laundry done for 7 of us, as well as cloth diapers for the 2 little boys.

Logan's First Day
Logan started school on the 5th of September. He went in like a champ and enjoyed his day. He has not been to school for a full week yet and I am not sure when he will. He always has something he is missing school for which is why he goes 5 days a week. the second week of school and this week were a little harder on him and he cried when he walked into school, but was fine once he got to the classroom.
This is a BIG step for me, letting him go and be in the care of someone else other than me or David. IT is only a little over 3 hours a day, but it is good for him and I know that this will help him so much where he is behind in development. I am hoping for a good winter where he is not sick much so he can go to school.

It the first day of School!!!
Today was the girls first day of school Em is in second grade and Chey is in first grade! They have been really excited for school to start and would go all year round if they could.

Today I also go back to work. I love my job and I love my boss who views family as coming before work. I think it maybe the only job I can really keep because of Logan and needing time off because of him.
I am so blessed today, we had so many good things that we are so grateful for happen today. Things are looking up for us and I am just so thankful for it all.

A BIG Change.
In October of 2010 our life changed in a big way. We welcomed Logan John Lehi into our lives, with his birth nothing was ever going to be the same. That journey started a couple months before that with doctors tell us that he might not live through childbirth (this was around 27-30 weeks). We prayed to Heavenly Father that our son would make it and live, and we did ask for a healthy child. We had testing done (things that did not involve an amino), more Ultrasounds and even an MRI (a month before he was born) everything said he did not have what they thought he did. Deep down I wanted to believe there was nothing wrong with my unborn son, but I knew that something was different.
We set the day of the induction because they were worried about my blood pressure, I had never been fully induced before just helped along. It was long and painful. David had decided that we were going to change Logan's middle name we had set for him while I was in labor from Lockmann to Lehi, and I must say it fits him very well. Right after he was born he was taken to the table to get checked out, I did not see him and the doctor did not show him to us, at this point i knew something was not right. David followed them and took some pictures. He was cleaned and i was able to hold him for just a couple of minutes before the took him off to the NICU. David followed and I stayed in the room waiting for him to come back with any news at all. We were then told he was born with Apert Syndrome (www.apert.org). His fingers and toes were fused and so were the sutures in his skull, and he had a sunken midface. I did not know much, but it was a start. After 5 hours I was able to see my little man again. He was adorable and I could really see him, the swelling in his face had gone down and he had a full head of dark hair! He had issue with his breathing throughout our stay and they would take him to the nursery so I would sleep and they would keep a close eye on him. On the day we were going to be discharged he was taken Back to the NICU for breathing issues, and stayed there for about a week. He came home with an Apnea monitor. We had seen many doctors and he was delayed developmentally and had and still can have issues with weight gain.
Logan is why we have learned to cherish everything big and small. He did not sit up unassisted till about 10 months, did not crawl till 15 months, and started walking at 2 1/2. The little things took longer as well and he is still at 2 years 9 months 3 weeks and 5 days old he is still not talking, he is making sounds and has been trying to say words, he know some sign language. Logan is a trooper as well his first surgery he had was at 6 months old which was 12 hours plus, he had half of his skull taken apart and put back together. He has has 2 hand surgeries both 8 hours or so, and a few other small surgeries. He wears glasses and hearing aids. At 2 1/2 he stayed still through a many CT scans. He still has a long road but he is a trooper and a fighter and can make it through the tough things all with a smile on his face.

A Little About Us!
This is our family! We have been married for just about 8 1/2 years. We have 5 children, our oldest is 7 1/2 and our youngest is almost 10 months old. Each of them is such a blessing and everyday we have is a blessing as well. Things may get crazy but we would not have it anyother way. Over the past 3 years we have been able to enjoy the little things and to us they are just as big and the bigger things.
